Brissie to the Bay Bike Ride

At Medland Dental we jump at any chance to support Multiple Sclerosis. We recently took part in MS Awareness Month and soon we will be cycling in the MS Brissie to the Bay Bike ride. We hold this cause very close to our hearts because one of our own was diagnosed with MS six years ago. Since then the sisters of four staff members have also been diagnosed. We aim to do everything we can to support them and others who are affected.

The Brissie to Bay Bike ride is raising valuable awareness as well as vital funds for MS. So far our team has raised over $1,500 and counting. Dr Paddison is a keen cyclist and a fitting team leader. The ride will take place between South Brisbane and Wynnum on the 22nd of June and teams can choose to do the 10km, 25km, 50km or 100km course. We hope to ride well, but, most of all, we hope to change the lives of people living with MS.

Multiple Sclerosis affects more than 23,000 Australians and 2 million people worldwide. It is a central nervous system disease that interferes with brain nerve impulses, optic nerves and the spinal chord. There is currently no cure and the symptoms of the condition are managed through a number of  treatment options.

The funds raised by our cycling team will go towards vital services for those who live with MS. We are thankful for the support we have received so far and for the 20 raffle prizes that have been donated by local and associated businesses to help raise money. If you would like to donate please visit our Brissie to the Bay team page here.
